Troubleshooting Common Router & Wi-Fi Issues
Simple 2-minute steps to resolve common connection problems before calling an engineer.
LOS stands for Loss of Signal. It indicates that the thin fiber optic cable plugged into your router is either bent tightly, unplugged, or there is an external fiber cut in your street. Solution: Check that the yellow fiber patch cord is firmly clicked into the green/blue port at the bottom of your router without any sharp kinks. If it remains red, please log a support ticket above so our field splicing engineer can repair the fiber line.
Power off the router using the power switch or unplug the power adapter from the electrical socket. Wait 30 full seconds to allow internal capacitors and optical memory to fully discharge. Plug the adapter back in and wait 90 seconds for the PON and Internet lights to turn solid green.
Your Ambalanet router broadcasts two Wi-Fi bands: 5 GHz (ultra-fast gigabit speeds, but shorter range through thick concrete walls) and 2.4 GHz (longer range, but lower maximum throughput). For gaming and 4K streaming, ensure your device is connected to the 5G SSID. For large houses, contact us to add an Ambalanet Mesh Wi-Fi Pod.
